Mein Freund hat von seiner Firma das Angebot bekommen, in Peking den Aufbau des neuen Werks zu begleiten.
Die ersten Fragen, die jetzt auftauchen sind:
Kann der Rest der Familie mit, auch wenn wir nicht verheiratet sind?
Gibt es nur die deutsche Botschaftsschule oder auch noch andere deutsche Schulen/ Kindergärten?
Lebt von euch jemand mit seinen Kindern in China und kann mir seine Erfahrungen mitteilen?
Welchen Stadtteil haltet Ihr für empfehlenswert für eine "Familie vom Land"?
Muss/sollte man in den sogenannten Ausländer-Compounds wohnen?
Ich würde hier einen lukrativen Job aufgeben, habe aber kein Abi oder ähnliches (Bäckerin + Betriebswirt des Handwerks). Sind die Chancen, dort einen Job zu finden für "ungelernte" eher besser oder eher schlechter als in Deutschland?
So, viele Fragen auf einmal, ich würde mich freuen, wenn Ihr ein paar davon beantwortet.

Sorry not in German,
THe biggest decision is wether to go or not. After you actually take the decision to go the problems can all be solved. It is a great experience but only if you fully embrace your new surroundings and manage the culture shock well. Without higher education you will have to make a decision to either work in your field at local wages or start your own business which has been done by many very succesfully. As a matter of fact many Germans never left and are running butchershops, restaurants, bakeries to cater to the local and expat community. Beijing is a very International place.
If you want to live outside the city there are indeed foreign compounds, Chinese Compounds and mixed compounds. The last category might bring the best China experience for you and your children. Maybe other forum members can answer the visa questions for unmarried couples or you can contact the Chinese embassy in Germany.
Make sure that the company pays for the schooling of the children and health insurance since the costs of both are very high in China. There are many International Schools in Beijing. You either take residence in the area or make sure you either rent a taxi or get a car with driver to ghetthe children to school.
Remember that you are certainly not alone. There is a very big German community in Beijing and you can check through the German Embassy if they can bring you in contact with one of the support organizations.
