Asia Times. Geht der Sozialismus nach links oder rechts? Macht es einen (großen) Unterschied?
"The neo-leftists do not oppose a market economy but do advocate a stronger role for the government in the economy and wealth distribution.
The rightists are a much larger group, mostly made up of liberal intellectuals, party veterans and economists. This group supports capitalist-style economic reforms and China's "opening up". It is often regarded as pro-West. "
The Chinese are not happy
Asia Times. Nationalistische Soße, zu heiß gekocht?
"the book appears to have struck a cord with Chinese readers on a level that it was perhaps not intended to. In a surprising twist, the volume - which set out to arouse national indignation at foreign powers' treatment of China - has burst open the Chinese people's grievances with their own government.

The list of unhappy people provided by Song reads like an almanac of China's social groups. They include children trafficked for slave labor, prisoners killed in detention from torture, migrant workers deprived of jobs, college students left unemployed, intellectuals accused of crimes because of their speech, and "all those Chinese people who quietly cry at night because they have been humiliated or injured". Yes, China is unhappy, he concludes."

Sea change in thinking about China's navy
China Daily.
"Boasting a vast land territory, river networks and affluent natural resources, leaders in ancient China used to think the country could sustain itself. Even after the seven voyages led 50,000 km to the west by legendary navigator Zheng He in the early 15th century, the "Middle Kingdom" never learned how to develop on the ocean."
50.000 km westlich von China? Was da wohl ist ...
