Umsteigen in England

Hallo,

ich plane mit meiner Frau im März in die USA zu fliegen. Wir wohnen derzeit in Deutschland. Sie ist Chinesin und hat einen Aufenthaltstitel (3 Jahre)

Visasituation England:
Manche Webseiten sagen, man braucht ein Transit Visum um in Heathrow umzusteigen. Andere nicht. Hat das hier jemand mal gemacht? Es soll Ausnahmen geben, wenn man als Chinese einen EU Aufenthaltstitel hat (> 3 Monate). Ein Visum für die USA haben wir.

Wenn British Airways nicht erheblich günstiger wäre als Air France etc. würde ich nicht fragen.

Deine Frau ist DATV national, also gilt:

If you are a national of a country covered by the DATV system, you may be able to transit the UK airside without a visa. To qualify for this exemption:

• you must arrive and depart by air; and

• your onward flight must be confirmed, and must depart within 24 hours; and

• you have proper documentation for your destination, including a visa if necessary.

Für mich liest sich das wie eine formaljuristische Absicherung.

Unter den von dir genannten Umständen (Transit in Heathrow für einen Weiterflug in die USA) sofort.

5 Stunden kann man schon im Transitraum aushalten - ja ich wuerde es machen
Nur ich wuerde nicht mit BA fliegen
und es gibt kein Kostenloses WIFI in London
also Buch einpacken

BA ist nicht toll aber kostet 600 Euro mit sehr guten Flugzeiten. Alles andere deutlich teurer (900-1100 euro). Sind bei 2 Personen gleich mehr als 600 Euro die wir lieber in Hotels investieren möchten.

Wir fliegen von Hamburg nach San Francisco. Zurück geht es von Vegas nach Hamburg.

Deine Frau wird in den Transitraum gesperrrrt und gut ist , Du kannst bei ihr sein oder in London shopping gehen. Von Dir will keiner was nur die Frau darf den Flughafeninnenberich nicht verlassen. Nach 5 Stunden kennt sie jedes Sonderangebot in Duty Free
